To me, FUSION EP is more than an academic programme. My first year was in Stuttgart with lectures on foundations of plasma physics and fusion research. I made good friends and encountered some professors who later became mentors. The second year and thesis internship were in Prague. New friends, experiences, and a great supervisor. In my thesis, I used a new set of magnetic coils to obtain plasma current, magnetic field and diamagnetic flux measurements, from which the energy confinement time of the plasma was measured. I also made a song on fusion titled “FUSION’S HERE”. I recommend FUSION EP.

From the very first time I heard about the Fusion-EP programme, I knew that I wanted to enroll in it. My experience ended up being even better than what I expected. The diversity of sites makes it possible to focus on what interests you the most and assisting to the different events is a perfect opportunity to learn and enjoy with your colleagues. Both sites where I studied were great, and I learned a lot about their culture, about myself and obviously about fusion. I also made very good friends that I know will be for a lifetime. Highly recommended.

I am deeply grateful to the FUSION-EP master’s program which has been one of the most rewarding experiences of my life. This incredible opportunity has not only allowed me to grow academically and professionally but has also enriched me socially and morally. I have gained the confidence and preparation necessary to pursue a fulfilling career as a researcher. Moreover, the program has bridged my dual passions for physics and engineering, enabling me to navigate both fields seamlessly. What truly sets FUSION-EP apart is its ability to unite brilliant minds from across the globe in making this world a better place.

Discovering the field of nuclear fusion through the Fusion EP programme has been an amazing experience. The small course groups and close collaboration with peers and active researchers have really made me feel part of the European fusion community over the past two years. The joint events were especially instructive and unique experiences, giving me the confidence and motivation to now pursue a PhD.
